Statement of Faith
We at X-treme Christian Fellowship are striving to Glorify God in all that we do. As such we recognize the need to have what we believe to be clearly stated and demonstrated in a manner that is consistent with the Scriptures, but also understandable to the layperson. It is our desire to serve God and not to place a denomination tag on who we are or what we do. Where the Scriptures are not clear, or where the Scriptures leave room for varied interpretation we seek not to make issues out of it, but simply to love God, and to love people.
- We believe that the Scriptures are God-Breathed, Inspired, and Infallible in so far as the original texts are concerned. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
- We believe that God co-exists simultaneously in three persons, but yet is One God. This is commonly referred to as the Trinity. Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 3:16-17; John 17.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the only “unique” son. It is thru Jesus Christ and Him alone that we can reach the Father. We also believe that Jesus Christ was the only God-Man. 100 % God and 100 % Man simultaneously. John 3:16, 14:6; Philippians 2:6-8.
- We believe in the fall of man and that all men are under sin. Subsequently we believe that man is in need of a Savior. Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 3:23, 5:18-21.
- We believe in the Grace of God. We are saved by grace and kept by grace alone through Jesus Christ alone. John 10: Ephesians 2:4-10, Colossians 2:6, Romans 3:24.
- We believe in Baptism by immersion in water. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:36; Acts 10:44-48.
- We believe in the Baptism the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ baptizes regenerated believers in the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an empowering work of the Spirit for sanctified living which is distinct from the regenerating work of the Spirit which is offered to every Christian. The consequence of speaking in tongues is made available to persons through this experience. Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-48; 19:1-6.
- We believe in the Gifts of the Spirit. All nine gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Cor. 12:4-11 continue to be expressed in the church today and are subject to the order prescribed by Scripture.
- We believe in The Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is a present reality and a future hope, forcibly advancing through the agency of the church.
- We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord and those who are dead in Christ shall rise first and those alive shall be caught up into the sky and transformed into His Likeness. We are not however concerned with the timing of such an event, only that our King will return for us. Matthew 24:15-31; Mark 13:24-37; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
- We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell. Revelation 19, 20, 21.
